About Escuela de Artes Plasticas de Puerto Rico
The Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico is a public higher education institution located in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. Founded in 1965, it became an autonomous institution in 1971 and is recognized as the leading institution for visual arts education in Puerto Rico. It is the only school in the region that offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. The school offers bachelor degrees in seven concentrations, including graphic arts, photography and design, art education, sculpture, painting, industrial design, and fashion design. The campus is housed in a historic building that has served various purposes since its construction in 1854. With a small student population of around 489-497 undergraduates, the school has a 100% acceptance rate and attracts a diverse group of students.
