About Pan African University Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI)
The Pan African University Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI) is a leading postgraduate institute within the Pan African University network, located in Nairobi, Kenya. Established in 2011 by the African Union, PAUSTI focuses on advanced training, research, and innovation in basic sciences and technology to support Africa's development. The institute opened its doors to students in 2012 and has since become a hub for diverse African faculty and students. PAUSTI offers master's and PhD programs that emphasize research and interdisciplinary approaches. These programs are open to applicants with strong academic backgrounds and are supported by competitive scholarships for students from all African Union member states, with a particular encouragement for female candidates. The institute is also involved in collaborative research and entrepreneurial initiatives, producing patents and numerous peer-reviewed publications.
